DESCRIPTION

Solemacher Baron is a variety of wild strawberry, which blooms and fruits from spring to late autumn. The fruits are very large, with a wide-conical shape and dark red in colour. This variety is very fertile, producing flavourful and delicious fruit. Because of their sweet taste they are especially loved by children.

ADVICES

This plant is best planted in full sun or semi-shade. The ideal soil should be light, free-draining and constantly moist. The optimum pH is in the range of 5.5-6.0.

Before planting, the soil should be enriched with compost. Wild strawberries should be planted so as not to overwhelm the base of the leaves with new buds. In the spring of the following year, the strawberries should be fertilized using a multi-component fertilizer, preferably in liquid form. As the plants have a shallow root system, at the time of a low level of ground water, and lack of rainfall, it is necessary to irrigate. After planting, strawberries respond well to mulching.
