The shrub is best planted in a sunny position, in a moderately moist and fertile soil. The optimum pH is in the range of 5,5-6,2.After planting, cut the bush back to a height of 10 cm, leaving 1-2 buds. Later cut out the old diseased shoots, and canes that are growing in the wrong direction. This small tree variety should be pruned into an almost spherical shape. To promote fruiting, one, two and three year old shoots should remain. To ensure fertilization it is recommended to use compost or mineral fertilizers. Nitrogen fertilizer should be used in early spring, and potassium and phosphorus in the autumn. In dry years, the bush requires regular watering. The plant is highly resistant to American gooseberry mildew.
