DESCRIPTION
Hamabo is an old variety of Syrian ketmia with unusual flowers. A shrub with a broadly rounded habit as well as raised and relatively sparse shoots. It grows slowly, usually reaching 1.5-2 meters in height. The leaves unfold in late spring. They are rhomboid in shape, three-pointed, softly pubescent, in light green color. In autumn, they turn yellow. Hamabo flowers from July to the end of August. It has beautiful flowers, 8-10 cm in diameter, with five petals. The edge of the petals is dominated by white with a pink shade. The center of the flower is decorated with a dark pink spot, extending longitudinally on each petal, with characteristic veins that look like brush strokes.ADVICES
The plant grows best when planted in a sunny place, sheltered from the wind. Syrian ketmia requires a fertile, permeable, and slightly acidic substrate. The best is sandy soil enriched with compost.
Syrian ketmia requires a constantly moist soil, which is why regular watering is necessary during periods of drought. Fertilize the plant with multi-component fertilizers for ornamental shrubs. Trimming is not required but may contribute to the abundance of flowering shrub. Trimming should be carried out in spring. We make it above the buds turned outside. In order to protect against frost in the late autumn, pile a mound of soil, sawdust, or peat on the plant root system, and cover the shoots with thick nonwoven or straw mats.
