DESCRIPTION
Lavender Chiffon is a unique variety of Syrian ketmia with flowers that change the color in the course of flowering. It is a shrub with erect shoots and an upright growth habit. It grows up to 2 meters in height. The leaves appear in late spring. They have a juicy green color. In autumn, they become intensely yellow. Lavender Chiffon flowers from July until autumn. During this time, magnificent (about 12 cm in diameter), semi-double flowers with gently wrinkled petals are constantly developing. In the first flowering period, they have a lavender-pink color with purple spots. In the final period, they turn into a blue color. Due to the simultaneous occurrence of various colors and shades, the shrub looks very impressive.ADVICES
The plant grows best when planted in a sunny place, sheltered from the wind. Syrian ketmia requires a fertile, permeable, and slightly acidic substrate. The best is sandy soil enriched with compost.
Syrian ketmia requires a constantly moist soil, which is why regular watering is necessary during periods of drought. Fertilize the plant with multi-component fertilizers for ornamental shrubs. Trimming is not required but may contribute to the abundance of flowering shrub. Trimming should be carried out in spring. We make it above the buds turned outside. In order to protect against frost in late autumn, pile a mound of soil, sawdust, or peat on the plant root system, and cover the shoots with thick nonwoven or straw mats.
