DESCRIPTION
Manuela- this firmly upright shrub grows up to 1.5 m in height. The hibiscus leaves are dark green, ovate, with serrated edges, in the autumn they become yellow. The biggest attraction is the extremely showy flowers - red with a darker centre. This variety is recommended for planting singly or in groups.ADVICES
The shrub is best positioned in a sunny spot, sheltered from wind. The plant prefers a fertile humus soil that is free-draining and slightly acidic, or alkaline. It is a good idea to provide a humid atmosphere for the plant. When the plant starts to bud, flowering must be encouraged by using a plant fertilizer that is dedicated for flowering plants. It is necessary to wrap hay or twigs from coniferous trees around the hibiscus for the winter. In spring it should be pruned and young shoots should be cut to stimulate plant growth. Damaged or frostbitten parts should be cut away. The plant should be watered regularly.
