DESCRIPTION

Atut - this shrub has a tasty and healthy fruit. It grows up to 2 m in height. Fruiting is abundant - from one bush there could be 2-3 kg of fruit. Fruits are elongated, cylindrical and are purplish-black, covered with a blue, waxy bloom. They can reach up to 3 cm in length. Their excellent taste can be described as sweet-sour with a characteristic bitterness.

ADVICES

This berry likes a warm and sunny position. The soil should be fertile, not too light, and free draining, with a slightly acidic pH 5,5-6,0. If the soil is too heavy it should be lightened by adding compost, bark and sand, but peat should be added to thicken if it is too light.

From 4-5 years it is worth pruning in order to revitalise, it is recommended to open up light channels by removing some of the main shoots, beginning with the oldest broken stems, and then some of the smaller ones. Every two or three years, in autumn, plants should be fertilized with manure and compost. To pollinate, the berry should be planted along with other varieties of this species that flower at the same time.
