Runo Bielawskie- this is a rather fast growing variety. It grows up to 0.4 m in height. Its leaves are dark green, leathery, with a shiny top, and underneath paler and matt. The flowers are pod shaped, white, and highly ornamental. They bloom twice, in May and in August. It bears fruit in August and October. The yield is rather abundant. This plant does not only produce tasty and healthy fruit, but is also delightfully presented in a garden.ADVICES
The shrub is best planted in a sunny position. The lingonberry can be grown in peat, moderately fertile soil, and even poorer quality soil, that should be kept moist and airy at all times. The optimum pH should be in the range of 3,5-4,8.Pruning is limited, but necessary. In the spring remove damaged and frost-bitten shoots. Every few years, the cranberry requires rejuvenating, so cut back to the height of a few centimetres. It is worth mentioning that the first flowering takes place on older stems, and the second flowering, on new shoots. The plant is not susceptible to diseases, and is well suited to organic cultivation. Cranberries should be watered regularly, due to their shallow and delicate root system. It is a good idea to cover the ground around the shrub, which will result in a better yield. For best results use pine bark or pine sawdust.
