"Pandy 103"



Pandy 103 - this is a remarkable dessert variety, considered to be one of the tastiest. It is highly recommended for the amateur gardener, due to having a high resistance to disease. The fruits are also great as an addition to desserts and homemade preserves. The tree produces fruit moderately early, annually. Fruits are large or very large, and have a wide spherical/kidney shape. The skin is cherry-red and is highly glossy and slightly translucent. The flesh could be described as soft, juicy, and sweet with a slight sour aftertaste. Separates from the stone easily.


The tree is best planted in a sunny position, sheltered from the wind. The plant prefers sandy-clay fertile soil which is moderately moist. The optimum pH is in the range of 6,7-7,2.

To stimulate future growth the tree should be pruned in the first year immediately after planting. Formative pruning should be executed on the main stem, 20 cm above where the planned future branches will grow. The other branches should also be cut, reducing their length by one third. The best time to prune the cherry tree is annually in the spring. Pandy 103 pollination requires the presence of other varieties flowering at the same time. Best results can be achieved by planting with varieties North Star, Wołyńska, Lucyna, Nefris.
