DESCRIPTION
Red Heart is an attractive variety of rose mallow. The bush has upright shoots and a wide and rounded form. Rapidly growing. After reaching 1.5 to 2 metres, it almost completely stops growing in height and starts to gain in density. The leaves are dark green, three-lobed, with toothed edges, appearing at the end of spring and turning yellow in autumn. Red Heart variety blossoms from July until the end of September, covering with plenty of large, five-petal flowers. The flowers are very impressive - dominating white colour is complemented with a vivid red spot around the base of the petals. A thick yellow stamen in the middle is also very distinctive.
ADVICES
The plant grows best when planted in a sunny place, sheltered from the wind. Syrian ketmia requires a fertile, permeable, and slightly acidic substrate. The best is sandy soil enriched with compost.
Syrian ketmia requires a constantly moist soil, which is why regular watering is necessary during periods of drought. Fertilize the plant with multi-component fertilizers for ornamental shrubs. Trimming is not required but may contribute to the abundance of flowering shrub. Trimming should be carried out in spring. We make it above the buds turned outside. In order to protect against frost in the late autumn, pile a mound of soil, sawdust, or peat on the plant root system, and cover the shoots with thick nonwoven or straw mats.
