DESCRIPTION
Duc de Brabant is an attractive variety of rose mallow, a decorative garden plant. The bush grows up to 1.5 m and is rigid and upright. The leaves appear late and are dark-green, three-lobed, with toothed edges. Duc de Brabant provides continuous flowering from July until autumn. The flowers are numerous, very large and full, dark-pink in colour, appearing mostly individually, only on new branches. When the flowers fall off, seed pods grow in their places. The plant looks beautifully in backyard gardens.ADVICES
The plant is best planted in a sunny position, sheltered from wind. This rose requires fertile and free draining soil, ideally sandy and enriched with compost.
This rose does not require pruning, but formative or rejuvenating pruning could be carried out in late March or the beginning of April. Make the cuts above the outside facing buds. In order to protect against frost, in late autumn the root system should be covered with a mound of earth, sawdust or peat. To fertilize use an organic fertilizer.
